Pakistan Airways was a short-lived cargo airline based at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, Pakistan. The airline was operational from 2005 to 2006, using a single Ilyushin Il-76 cargo aircraft for flights between Pakistan and Dubai.[1]
Air Support Technologies Pakistan (AST PAKISTAN ) was the parent company and was established in 2001 in Lahore Pakistan. It was also registered in UAE with offices at Dubai International Terminal 2 and Fujairah International Airport from 2004 with same name AST PAKISTAN.
In May 2006 award 002/2006 License to operate non scheduled international charter flights out of Pakistan. Successfully operated AN 12 flights on sector Dubai Peshawar Karachi Dubai some time three times a week. Also operate so many flights UAE to IRAQ for US Army Osh Kosh Trucks USA. Also provide Base to Base transport to international force with IL 76 TD and AN 12 Aircraft. Actively participated in air transportation from Pakistan to Afghanistan to ISAF forces with IL 76 TD in 2008 and 2009 and during war from Dubai to Kabul. Operated Several Flights in TSUNAMI from UAE Base to Indonesia also provide flights in Pakistan during earth quack relief flights from different EU countries and UAE to Islamabad by operating IL 76 TD and B 707-200 which was leased from First International Airlines Ostend Belgium.
The Non Schedule License of AST PAKISTAN AIRWAYS was red tapped when they announced Hajj Flights in 2006 Hajj and booked thousands of people due to low fare then PIA and other carriers. The License was restored and renewed after 8 months.
It was again suspended and show cause notice was issued to company when there travel agency License no. 3722/06 Lahore was announced with collaboration of Aero Vista Airlines of UAE to give Cheap Chartered Flights on EID holidays by Aero Vista to Pakistani Laboure working in UAE just to relief them. The CAA issued show cause notice to Parent Company that AST PAKISTAN AIRWAYS is trying to sold tickets with out any proof and base in 2007. From that time AST PAKISTAN AIRWAYS under suspension and seeking now Superior Pakistani Court to resolve this issue with CAA PAKISTAN.
AST PAKISTAN AIRWAYS as a Private Limited Company still providing Cargo Charter Flights world wide and VIP flights as a Broker company on different other Call Signs with aircraft.
